Interested in firefighting?

I would like to get a job with the California Department of Forestry (CDF) or another firefighter position. I have zero experience outside of the Intro to Fire cl I have taken at the local community college. I'm 28 and work a full time job with a newborn at home and I am the only one bringing in any kind of income currently, so volunteering would be extremely difficult but I know sometimes it's necessary and am willing to sacrifice if need be. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
