What to do about a college roomie?

Well, sorry to tell you, but she pays for the room also, and she has every right to be there. There are much bigger problems you could have with your roommate... I know it sucks though and you want privacy sometimes. (I had this same situation with a roommate except it was always her and her boyfriend and they were always having and/or rolling around on her bed. ALWAYZ. it gets worse!) You could suggest she get a job or join a club (do this casually, just let her know you saw a club she might like or something) or you could invite her out when you go to parties and hope she might make some friends that she can go out with sometimes. Suggest she visit the computer lab when you need to "study quietly" or suggest she visit the common areas for reasonable amounts of time. If none of this works and you can't take it, you might want to request a room change.
