This guy plays footsie with me in cl. what does it mean?

I am 16.there is a guy in my cl who is loud around his friends but we sit next to each other in cl.But he is very quiet around me and i am quiet too so its kind of awkward but he keeps trying to make physical contact with me in cl.For example, he will look under the table then a few seconds later i could feel his leg beneath my foot resting there. once we stayed like that for a few minutes. when he does this, he keeps looking at my face but i ignore it and i can feel my face starting to turn red when this happens. i really like him, but im really shy and nervous around him because i like him so much, how can i show him i like him back? how do i play footsies back? this has been going on for weeks now..and i dont know what to do?
