Period for almost 8 days..Is this normal?

It's always been this way. I normally have it for a couple days over a week. My period starts extremly light, brownish color..almost like discharge. Then changes into tissuey, red goop. Then is all pink..and then white then it disappears. Then average for my periods is 8 days. Is this normal?
