Brown Recluse or not?

I have recently noticed spiders in my home that appear to be Recluses, due to their coloring and the "violin" shape on their backs. However, these spiders have always been out in the open when I spotted them. Aren't Recluses just that? They seem to have come out on their own, meaning nothing around them was being disturbed. Could they be something else? It's really unnerving not to know!
