What additional evidence do the Portugal police have?

To finally make a public statement that they think Madelaine is not alive the Police must have fairly firm evidence in addition to anything relating to the blood stains. If they only had the blood stains they would surely have waited for the results of the dna tests to be certain. (Unless they really are the keystone cops)
