What's the difference between a burrito and an enchilada?
Basically a burrito is a rolled up flour tortilla filled with anything you wish to put in it. basicallyn an enchilada is a rolled up corn tortilla usually filled with shredded chickenm , but could be beef, beans, cheese or other, and covered with a chile based sauce. The chile sauce is essential because the word enchilada means chile covered (tortilla). Enchiladas are usually topped off with cubed or grated panela cheese, but can be topped with Chihuaha, Oaxaca or some other slightly more flavorful cheese espcially in the case of the oven made "enchilada suiza." It is common also for enchiladas to be garnished with diced fresh onion and cream.
